World’s 2nd oldest Finger Print Bureau, Phillaur was established in the year 1899 at Police Training School Phillaur.
Since its inception, this Bureau has been catering to needs of investigating Machinery of Northern India.
This Bureau stated with the 8 thousands finger prints record slips and today we have 5 lacks of active criminals.
In modernization we step up from Manual to Forty digit than FACTS and now to AFIS.

This FACTS machine is being used in this Bureau since 2003.
60,000/- search slips of arrested persons have been conducted with 80% accurate results and I/O’s speedily feedback for enhance punishment.
Single digit search are also being conducted in this data.
It helps in providing the criminal attribute data base in edition to finger print matched.
